Some years ago one of Mr. Ma's friend experienced a fake round-backed armchair collection. Mr. Ma didn't tell his name. Let's say Mr. John.
Since Mr. often often appraise the value and advantage to Mr. John. He finally decided to to buy one piece one day. And he got the information one day that there's such a piece in a far place.
So he acted at once to the collection journey. First took train from Beijing to Taiyuan city. Then take bus and then ride a donkey for 2 hour's to get to an village located at the top area of a high mountain. At the time he must think that at such a remote place closed to outside he would surely get real antique items he dreamed of.
Someone led him to a house with a pair of round-backed armchair in. The host of the house is an old lady. She offer him RMB10,000. At the time the market price for antique ones is about RMB70,000 to 80,000 in main big cities. He was pleased that he could get the piece at very low cost. And so he bought the pair of chairs as real antique.
As soon as he was back to Beijing he came to Mr. Ma to enjoy the good pair. Mr. Ma realized that it's fake. Mr. John couldn't believe and told the collecting story. “I myself get to such a remote mountain village.” “How can they take the fake chairs to the village?” Mr. Ma asked “How did you take the chairs down the mountain?” He answered “I spent RMB100 to employ a person carry the chair down”. “That's right. Sine they can carry the chair down they can carry the fake ones up to the village.”
So we don't think that the villagers are stupid. We sometime may be more stupid than them. |
